Every horse is unique, and each session is thoughtfully tailored to their individual needs. The aim is to support your horse's comfort, movement, posture and overall equine wellbeing, while helping you better understand how to help them.
Before booking a session or tuition, please book a consultation first. This provides the opportunity to learn more about your horse, discuss their individual needs, answer any questions, and together arrange a suitable appointment date and time.
EHS Online Zoom Session - Equine Hanna Somatics® is also available online via Zoom, with sessions lasting approximately 1–1.5 hours.
We know that caring for a horse can be expensive, and sometimes the cost of additional support can feel out of reach. If finances are a concern, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We will work with you to find a solution.
Because every horse deserves the opportunity to feel and move their best!

We can help you feel more confident with Equine Wellbeing by teaching you to support your horse’s movement, posture and behaviour with basic Equine Massage and Equine Therapy techniques, and/or Equine Hanna Somatics.
When we take the time to listen to our horses and learn how to support them, it can deepen the connection we share with them. When your horse begins to associate feeling good with the time you spend together, something very special can grow between you.
Individualised session tailored to you and your horse’s needs. (Payment options available as noted above)
Small group sessions are hosted at selected venues for 4–6 participants, with 2–3 horses available for practical learning and observation.
CPD courses and workshops are available at selected host venues across the UK for equine professionals and owners. For dates, pricing and bookings, please contact the venue directly.

Your first appointment lasts approximately 1.5 hours and begins with a conversation about your horse's history, lifestyle and any concerns you may have. Then posture, movement and muscle tone are assessed before creating an approach that is suited to them. Depending on their individual needs, a session may involve a combination of approaches.
Follow-up appointments usually last 1–1.5 hours and begin with a reassessment to see how your horse is responding.
For horses new to Equine Hanna Somatics® or Equine Therapy, three sessions over 4–8 weeks is generally recommended, although this can vary depending on the individual horse.
Sessions should take place in a calm, quiet environment where your horse can move, explore and communicate at their own pace whenever it is safe to do so.
After your session, practical guidance and simple maintenance exercises are provided to help you continue supporting your horse's comfort, movement and Equine Wellbeing between appointments.
If you're unsure, get in touch. Let’s have a conversation and help you decide on the best next step.

If your horse is healthy and you're looking for support with maintenance, comfort or general Equine Wellbeing, veterinary consent is not required before booking complementary care.
However, if your horse is lame or showing signs of illness, injury or a possible underlying condition, they must be assessed by a qualified veterinarian before complementary care is undertaken.
Not sure whether your horse should be assessed by a veterinarian before booking? Please get in touch before arranging your session.

Whilst veterinary care is an essential part of responsible horse ownership, especially when it comes to illness, injury, diagnosis and emergencies, caring for your horse’s wellbeing doesn’t, and we believe shouldn’t, stop there. And that is why you may have found our services, because you believe that too.
With the arrival of modern veterinary medicine complementary and natural therapies came to be perceived as less effective. But they can be a very valuable part of supporting your horse's comfort, movement and overall Equine wellbeing.
For thousands of years, complementary and natural therapies have been used to help horses with their health issues, and they can work hand in hand with veterinary care, particularly with musculoskeletal and stress issues.

Equine Hanna Somatics® (EHS) is neuromuscular re-education method. It works with the horse’s brain to reawaken and reset signals controlling muscle tension. It is a gentle approach that releases patterns of muscle tension that affect a horse's comfort, posture and movement. It can be a stand alone method equine care approach or complementary to other physical therapies including Equine Physiotherapy, Equine Chiropractic, Equine Osteopathy, Equine Massage and other forms of Equine Bodywork.
EHS is based on the concepts of pandiculation and Sensory Motor Amnesia (SMA), helping the nervous system reconnect with muscles that may have become accustomed to holding tension.
Each session is horse-led and carried out at the horse's own pace, supporting a more Equine Holistic Care approach.

This online video is for horse owners who would like to learn more about how they can support their horse's comfort and movement. It features the late Dr Eleanor Criswell Hanna, the creator of Equine Hanna Somatics.
In the video it shows you how to assess your horse and carry out a basic or maintenance Equine Hanna Somatics session. You don't need to be an expert in horse anatomy, and you don't need any previous experience—just a desire to help your horse feel and move better.
For $47, you can keep the video as part of your personal equine care toolkit and return to it whenever you need it.
