Blending education with a passion for animals

The Fables of Fairfield Stables was inspired by the time Ilse spent keeping a horse at Fairfield Stables in Newent, Gloucestershire. Whilst growing up in the beautiful surroundings of Bushy Park in Greater London, Ilse developed a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife, and many years later a lifelong ambition to rehome an ex-racehorse led to a move to the Gloucestershire countryside.

Fairfield Stables, situated in a magnificent hilltop location overlooking the surrounding landscape, became the setting for many memorable events involving a wonderful cast of animals and people. The friendships, adventures, challenges, and lessons experienced there provided the inspiration for this collection which felt important to share with a wider audience.

By donating 10% of book sales to wildlife and animal charities, we extend our mission beyond storytelling, actively contributing to the protection and care of animals.
